Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 31st July 2026
These are the terms you agree to by using Otterli. There's no account to create and nothing to pay, so this is shorter than most. We've kept it in plain English wherever the law lets us.
The short version: use Otterli for planning your own meals, don't scrape it or break it, check the recipes against your own judgement, and understand that a free site can't promise you the world.
1. Who we are, and what this covers
Otterli is a free vegan recipe library and weekly meal planner, run from the United Kingdom by Richard Kakengi. It's open to anyone, anywhere, and needs no account.
By using the site you accept these terms, wherever you're using it from. If you don't accept them, please don't use Otterli.
2. Acceptable use
You're welcome to search the recipe library, read our articles, build weekly meal plans, and export those plans for your own use — personal or household. That's what it's for.
You agree not to:
- Use Otterli for unlawful purposes, or for anything that breaks local, national, or international law.
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-copy our content or data without our permission.
- Interfere with how Otterli runs — introducing malicious software, overloading it, or otherwise disrupting the service for other people.
3. Content and external links
The recipes, articles, and everything else on Otterli — other than third-party content shown as such — belong to Richard Kakengi or to contributors who've given us permission to publish their work. You may not copy, redistribute, or republish any of it without written consent.
Otterli links out to other websites, including the retailers listed on a product page. Those links are there to point you at something relevant. We don't endorse or guarantee the accuracy, quality, or reliability of what you find there, and we earn nothing if you buy through them. Once you follow a link you're on someone else's site, under their terms and their privacy policy rather than ours.
4. What we can and can't promise
Otterli is provided "as is" and "as available". We build it carefully, but it's free, it's small, and we can't guarantee it will always be up, always be accurate, or always suit your circumstances.
Recipes and ingredient lists in particular are a starting point, not advice. Check labels and ingredients yourself if you have allergies, intolerances, or specific dietary needs — you know your own situation and we don't.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for loss or damage arising from:
- Your use of Otterli, or your being unable to use it.
- Inaccuracies, errors, or omissions in the content.
- Anything that happens on a third-party site you reached through a link here.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud — and none of it affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
5. Privacy
There are no accounts, so we don't collect registration details. We ask for your email address only when you export a meal plan or sign up to our newsletter, and analytics cookies are set only if you accept them.
The full picture is in our Privacy Policy, with every cookie and storage item listed by name in our Cookie Policy.
6. Intellectual property
Otterli and its content — excluding third-party content — are the intellectual property of Richard Kakengi. You may not reproduce, distribute, or exploit any of it commercially without prior written permission.
7. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes take effect once they're posted here, and the date at the top of this page will tell you when that was. Continuing to use Otterli after a change means you accept the updated terms.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes about them are for the courts of England and Wales. If you're a consumer resident elsewhere, this doesn't take away any right you have to bring proceedings in your own country.
